DECIDUOUS FRUIT DEVELOPMENT CHAMBER SOUTH AFRICA (DFDC-SA) IS:

  • South Africa’s first black deciduous fruit producers organization with a geographical footprint in 7 provinces.
  • A free-standing structure representing 113 producer units, with its own board of directors.
  • Playing a leading role in the process of driving a transformation agenda for the deciduous industry.

The Deciduous Fruit Development Chamber (DFDC-SA) was created in November 2007, with the strategic intent of transforming the deciduous fruit industry, that is inclusive of black farmers throughout the value chain. The DFDC-SA has a high level mandate of doubling the industry by 2050 through a transformation agenda.

MISSION:

To establish sustainable enterprises through mutually beneficial and strategic initiatives in growing black ownership within the Deciduous Fruit Industry.

VISION:

To be the transformation agent of the Deciduous Fruit Industry to develop meaningful black ownership in the Deciduous Fruit Economy

OBJECTIVES:

  • Increase Deciduous Fruit Industry footprint in other provinces
  • Representation of black farmers through the value chain
  • Equity to be 100% black owned with exit strategy
