The Deciduous Fruit Development Chamber (DFDC-SA) was created in November 2007, with the strategic intent of transforming the deciduous fruit industry, that is inclusive of black farmers throughout the value chain. The DFDC-SA has a high level mandate of doubling the industry by 2050 through a transformation agenda.

To establish sustainable enterprises through mutually beneficial and strategic initiatives in growing black ownership within the Deciduous Fruit industry

To be the transformation agent of the Deciduous Fruit Industry to develop meaningful black ownership in the Deciduous Fruit Economy

The below are not exhaustive of the DFDC strategy objectives, but seeks to indicate the high level intended outcomes:

  • Increase deciduous fruit industry footprint in other provinces

  • Representation of black farmers through the value chain

  • Equity to be 100% black owned with exit strategy
